In 2022 ISI Yogyakarta commemorated its 38th Anniversary. In the celebration of the 38th Anniversary, various activities were held such as national seminars, international exhibitions and various performances. One of the performances held in commemoration of the 38th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta is a performance with the theme "Ngundhuh Wohing Tulus". This performance was held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 19.30 WIB at the ISI Yogyakarta Art Laboratory.
This performance features two ISI Yogyakarta alumni artists, Didik Nini Thowok from the Dance Department and Ki Aneng Kiswantoro from the Puppetry Department. Didik Nini Thowok will perform a dance entitled Dwi Muka Jali and Pancasari, while Ki Aneng Kiswantoro will perform a wayang cinema entitled Cakrawala Cinta.
For the past two years, artists in the performing arts have been forced to innovate in order to continue creating and presenting their work to the public. Artists are forced to utilize social media and Youtube in order to present their work to the public. The statement was delivered by Drs. Gandung Djatmiko, M.Pd. in a speech by the chairman of the UPT Laboratorium and Concert Hall ISI Yogyakarta. Furthermore, the Head of the Art Laboratory and Concert Hall ISI Yogyakarta said that this performance was the result of collaboration with alumni and was held in commemoration of the 38th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta.
This performance is an example of how art can be used as a means of recovery life, said the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum., when opening the performance of "Ngundhuh Wohing Tulus". This performance is in line with the theme of the 38th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta "Art Excellence for Life Recovery.
After remarks from the Head of the Laboratory and Concert Hall and the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, the event continued with a dance performance by Maestro Didik Nini Thowok with the dance title Dwi Muka. After the dance performance, it was followed by a wayang senima performance with the title "Cakrawala Cinta". After the wayang senima performance, the event continued with congratulations on the 38th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta from the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, B.A., M.B.A. The event ended with a Pancasari dance performance from Maestro Didik Nini Thowok.
The performance was attended by the Rector, Assistant Rector II, Assistant Rector III, leaders in the Faculty of Performing Arts, leaders in the Faculty of Fine Arts, leaders in the Faculty of Recording Media Arts, ISI Yogyakarta students, alumni and the general public who have registered through the link. This performance was really able to enliven the 38th Anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta as seen from the enthusiasm of the participants who watched the performance.
