Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta, the opening of the exhibition of students of the S-1 Art Management Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta was held with the title "Kabar Bumi Half Windu". The ceremonial opening of this cast starts at 16.00 WIB until completion. "Kabar Bui Half Windu" was opened by Dr. Suwarno Wisetrotomo, M.Hum. (ISI Yogyakarta Lecturer and National Gallery Curator).
The ceremonial opening of the exhibition began with remarks from Dr. Mikke Susanto, M.A. as Chairperson of the S-1 Art Management Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. In his remarks Dr. Mikke Susanto, M.A. said that the organization of the exhibition entitled "Kabar Bumi Half Windu" tried to remind the public of environmental issues as one of the problems faced by society and provide entertainment to the public amid the lack of direct exhibition activities. Furthermore, he said that the activities carried out by the S-1 Art Management Study Program are expected to be able to raise community problems while providing solutions. At the end of his remarks, the Head of the S-1 Art Management Study Program expressed his gratitude to the students who successfully organized the exhibition by presenting works from extraordinary artists.
The opening ceremony was followed by a speech from a representative of Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta, Mrs. Purnawa. In her speech she said that Bentara Budaya is not only a public space and art space, but also an educational space for young artists and curators. Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta also expressed its gratitude to ISI Yogyakarta for organizing this exhibition at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta.
The event continued with a poetry reading from Mrs. Atik Marianti (Recipient of the Kulon Progo Regency Women of Merit and Achievement Award). On this occasion Mrs. Atik Marianti read a poem entitled Hanya untuk Sungai by Eka Budianta.
The ceremonial opening of the exhibition was closed with a speech by Dr. Suwarno Wisetrotomo, M.Hum. as well as opening the exhibition. In his speech, Dr. Suwarno Wisetrotomo, M.Hum. invited the audience to give appreciation to Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta for giving the opportunity to the generation to organize this cast. He further congratulated the students who had successfully organized the play "Kabar Bumi Half Windu". This exhibition is not a simple exhibition and raises contextual issues and themes. Furthermore, Dr. Suwarno Wisetrotomo, M.Hum, invited guests and participants of the opening ceremony entered Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta to watch the works on display.
