After the procession of the Limited Open Senate Session, the event will continue with a Public Lecture with the theme "The Revival of Art in the New Normal Era" which will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Kasidi, M.Sn.
In the 2021-2022 Academic Year, ISI Yogyakarta accepts new students with a total of 1,365 students. These students will study in Diploma III, Diploma IV, Strata 1, Strata 2 and Strata 3 programs within ISI Yogyakarta. Of the total number of students accepted, 491 students will study at the Faculty of Performing Arts, 517 students will learn Faculty of Fine Arts, as many as 255 study student Faculty of Recording Media Arts and 102 students will continue their studies at the ISI Yogyakarta Postgraduate Program. New students admitted to ISI Yogyakarta for the 2021/2022 academic year come from 31 provinces in Indonesia and abroad.
New students in the 2021/2022 academic year are obtained from three new student admission selection systems, namely SNMPTN as many as 30%, SBMPTN as many as 40%, and Mandiri as many as 30%. There are 2,399 registrants in the SNMPTN route, 5,026 registrants in the SBMPTN route, and 3,178 registrants in the Independent route.
Of all these pathways, if the data of applicants and acceptance are combined, overall it can be conveyed that of the 1,385 quota provided, registrants at ISI Yogyakarta amounted to 10,770, prospective students accepted and have registered who today have become ISI Yogyakarta students totaling 1,365. This means that the level of tightness of the selection of new admissions is 1: 8, meaning that one seat to become a student at ISI Yogyakarta is contested by 8 people. Even in certain study programs, namely Visual Communication Design, the level of tightness reaches 1 : 40.
In 2021, ISI Yogyakarta received a quota of 319 KIPK (Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah) scholarships through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and aspirations. Of these, only 163 students have been fulfilled and there are still 156 unfilled quotas. For this reason, for new ISI Yogyakarta students who really need a KIPK scholarship, they can immediately register online through the website https://kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id no later than September 17, 2021.
From the large number of applicants and the distribution of students from within and outside the country, ISI Yogyakarta should be proud because it is the main destination for prospective new students to study Indonesian art and culture. In the selection process for new student admissions, ISI Yogyakarta still uses strict admission standards, considering the quota and the reality of limited facilities, infrastructure, and the number of lecturers (HR). Hopefully, with a strict selection process, considering the quota and the reality of limited facilities, infrastructure, ISI Yogyakarta is expected to be able to produce superior human resources in the arts.
