Through this forum, ISI Yogyakarta reaffirms its commitment to the development of artistic scholarship, which is not only oriented towards creative practice but also towards strengthening academic discourse, cultural literacy, and the contribution of art in interpreting social change.

The involvement of ISI Yogyakarta in this seminar is significant for strengthening the academic network between higher education institutions. Collaboration with UPI, UGM, and UNY demonstrates that the study of arts and culture holds a strategic position in building critical understanding of societal development, identity, creativity, and the politics of representation in the contemporary era.

This seminar presents a number of academics, researchers, and practitioners from various fields. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Trisna Pradita Putra, M.M. and Fensy Sella, M.Pd.

The theme raised in this seminar is relevant to the current development of the art world, education, and the creative industry. Art education is no longer understood solely as a process of inheriting artistic skills, but also as a space for shaping perspectives, cultural sensitivity, the ability to read symbols, and critical awareness of representations in society. In this context, cultural literacy becomes an important part of understanding how works of art, media, visuality, and creative practices shape social narratives and collective identity.

For ISI Yogyakarta, this forum is an opportunity to expand its scholarly contributions in the arts into national academic discourse. As a higher education institution for the arts mandated with developing art, culture, and creativity, ISI Yogyakarta continuously promotes the integration of education, research, artistic creation, and community service. Involvement in this national inter-university seminar also reflects ISI Yogyakarta's position as a center for the development of art knowledge that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration.

The collaboration with UPI, UGM, and UNY also highlights the importance of synergy between campuses in responding to the challenges of the contemporary creative ecosystem. Technological advancements, changes in cultural consumption patterns, social media dynamics, and the growth of the creative industry demand that higher education institutions offer more adaptive, critical, and impactful studies. Through this seminar, art is positioned as a field of knowledge that has the capacity to interpret, critique, and offer new perspectives on the changing times.

Besides strengthening academic reputation, this activity is also part of an effort to build a broader arts education ecosystem. The presence of academics and practitioners from various institutions opens up opportunities for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and possibilities for further collaboration in the fields of education, research, publication, curriculum, and the creation of artworks based on cultural studies.

By holding this national seminar, ISI Yogyakarta affirms its role as an art higher education institution that not only produces artists, designers, researchers, and creative practitioners, but also actively builds academic discourse relevant to societal needs. Through inter-institutional collaboration, ISI Yogyakarta continues to strengthen its position as an art campus that contributes to the development of science, cultural preservation, and the formation of Indonesia's competitive creative ecosystem.

Yogyakarta, 8 Juni 2026 — Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta kembali memperkuat perannya sebagai perguruan tinggi seni terkemuka melalui kolaborasi akademik lintas kampus dalam Seminar Nasional bertema “Pendidikan Seni, Literasi Budaya, dan Politik Representasi dalam Ekosistem Kreatif Kontemporer.” Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan atas kolaborasi Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), […]

[46,37,62

post-33184","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-agenda","category-berita-dan-info","category-seminar-2"],"a3_pvc":
https://www.isi.ac.id/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/WEB.-7-463x348.png",463,348,true
https://www.isi.ac.id/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/WEB.-7-300x226.png",300,226,true
https://www.isi.ac.id/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/WEB.-7.png",1920,1446,false
["GET
