A total of two teams of ISI Yogyakarta students successfully secured funding for the 2026 National Student Creativity Program (PKM) under the PKM-Entrepreneurship scheme. This achievement reaffirms ISI Yogyakarta's position as an art higher education institution that not only excels in artistic creation but also produces creative innovations, applied research, and entrepreneurial ideas relevant to community needs.

The success of the two ISI Yogyakarta student teams is an important achievement because it was attained through a highly competitive national selection process. Out of 25,253 proposals submitted at the national level, 16,398 proposals passed the first stage. After further evaluation, only 1,221 proposals secured funding. Two of these were works by ISI Yogyakarta students.

The two teams that successfully secured funding come from various study programs within ISI Yogyakarta. Both presented creative entrepreneurship ideas that showcase the power of art, design, crafts, and product innovation in addressing contemporary issues, ranging from batik literacy to environmental concerns in online trading.

The first team is PAS-EDU, which carries the title “PAS-EDU: Batik and Printed Pashmina Innovation Based on QR Codes as a Medium for Literacy on the Essence of Batik Techniques for Consumers.” This team is chaired by Lutfi Rohadatul Aisy from the 2025 Batik Craft Fashion Design program. The team members consist of Alisya Qoritafiya, Rifdah Ghina Salaabila, Leni Nurmilah Pebriani, and Registaria Apriliana Indah Suci, all from the 2025 Batik Craft Fashion Design program.

Through PAS-EDU, students from ISI Yogyakarta present a creative product idea in the form of batik and printed scarves. These scarves are not only fashion items but also serve as educational media. The utilization of QR codes on these products is an innovative strategy to introduce the values, processes, and essence of batik techniques to consumers in a more interactive way. This innovation demonstrates how batik traditions can be developed through technological approaches, cultural literacy, and creative entrepreneurship.

The second team is SOYALOGY, which carries the title “SOYALOGY: Utilization of Tofu Wastewater for Eco-Friendly Packaging as a Replacement for Bubble Wrap in the Era of Online Commerce.” This team is chaired by Gregorius Guntur Jembar Wicaksono from the Product Design Study Program, batch of 2023. The team members consist of Nuraini Yusmaida from Interior Design, batch of 2024, Ahmad Hanif Ciptadi from Visual Communication Design, batch of 2023, Senjelin Fladior Lai from Visual Communication Design, batch of 2025, and Ammara Raya Asyara from Interior Design, batch of 2025.

SOYALOGY offers creative solutions to waste problems and the need for eco-friendly packaging. By utilizing soy wastewater as an innovative material for bubble wrap alternatives, this team demonstrates that art and design students play a vital role in delivering sustainability-based solutions. This idea is also relevant to the growth of online commerce, which requires packaging that is safe, functional, and environmentally responsible.

Both teams are under the guidance of Retno Purwandari, S.S., M.A., a lecturer in the Craft Department, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, ISI Yogyakarta. Lecturer mentorship is an important part of strengthening the quality of ideas, product development, and student readiness to participate in the national PKM stages.

This achievement strengthens ISI Yogyakarta's reputation as an art campus that continuously encourages its students to think creatively, innovatively, and with impact. Through PKM, students are not only directed to produce works but also to design solutions that have economic, social, cultural, and environmental value. This aligns with the role of art higher education institutions in expanding the contribution of art to entrepreneurship, the creative industry, technology, and sustainable development.

ISI Yogyakarta expresses its appreciation to all students and supervising lecturers for their achievements. This success is expected to be a motivation for other students to continue developing ideas, conducting cross-disciplinary exploration, and presenting creative works that can benefit the wider community.

Support from the academic community and the public is also expected to strengthen the sustainability of both programs. The creative products generated by ISI Yogyakarta students are not only proof of success in national competitions, but also have the potential to grow as the embryos of sustainable creative businesses.

With the passing of these two PKM-Entrepreneurship teams, ISI Yogyakarta once again affirms itself as an adaptive, productive, and capable art higher education institution that can meet the challenges of the times. From the academic realm of art, innovative ideas are born that connect tradition, technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainability to provide a real impact for society.

PAS-EDU first team

SOYALOGY team

Yogyakarta, 26 Mei 2026 — Kabar membanggakan kembali datang dari Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta.
