Yogyakarta, May 16, 2026 \u2014 Interior Design students from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta are presenting an exhibition titled \u201cLumen Origo\u201d from May 21-23, 2026, at RuangDalam Art House. This exhibition serves as a platform for students to showcase their creative ideas in translating the relationship between interior design, light, atmosphere, and human experience within a space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lifting the meaning of \u201cthe first light that emerges from life,\u201d Lumen Origo represents the initial journey of creativity, the courage to experiment, and the efforts of students in creating works that are not only visually striking but also possess narrative, function, and spatial experience. Through this exhibition, Interior Design students of ISI Yogyakarta demonstrate that interior design does not stop at aesthetic considerations but also relates to how space builds emotion, shapes interaction, and connects humans with their environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition is organized by DESIMAL Batch 25 Interior Design of ISI Yogyakarta. Through this theme, the students present explorations of concepts, textures, compositions, lighting, and visual elements designed to build a communicative spatial experience. This activity also serves as part of the practice-based learning process, which is a strength of art education at ISI Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over its three-day run, Lumen Origo not only showcased interior design works but also featured a number of supporting events. On the first day, Thursday, May 21, 2026, activities began with an opening ceremony, followed by an exhibition and a critique session. On Friday, May 22, 2026, the exhibition was open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM WIB and included a Watercolor Workshop from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM WIB with Mr. Stephanus Prioutomo. This workshop was free for participants, who would be provided with watercolor paper, while participants were required to bring their own watercolors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agenda continues on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with an exhibition from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM WIB, and a Decorative Candle Workshop from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM WIB with Eunike Meyliana Samosir. This workshop can also be attended for free and provides materials such as glasses, paraffin, wicks, and flowers. Participants only need to register via the QR code or the link available in the event's publication material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To conclude, Lumen Origo also presented a series of music performances on Saturday evening, from the exhibition's closing to the appearances of several music groups. The presence of music in this event series strengthens Lumen Origo's character as a meeting space for cross-expressions, a place where design, visuals, light, and performativity come together in a single creative experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity affirms ISI Yogyakarta's position as an art higher education institution that not only produces works but also builds a vibrant, collaborative creative ecosystem relevant to the development of the art and design industry. Through Lumen Origo, students are trained to understand the entire creative process, from formulating ideas, processing media, presenting works, to communicating with the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition also serves as a form of contribution from ISI Yogyakarta students in broadening public appreciation for interior design as a field of study that plays an important role in shaping the quality of living spaces. By combining artistic, conceptual, and visitor experience aspects, Lumen Origo becomes a learning space as well as a creative promotion that showcases the ingenuity of the younger generation of art and design from ISI Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
