Yogyakarta, May 9, 2026 \u2014 The Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta is once again providing a practice-based learning space through a learning outcome concert titled \u201cRising Veil.\u201d This concert is presented by Orchestra Classes I and III of PopJazz Music Performance and will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 6:30 PM Western Indonesian Time, at the ISI Yogyakarta Music Auditorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embracing the idea of a musical journey that begins serenely and then develops towards a peak of full and open expression, \u201cRising Veil\u201d represents the artistic process of students in honing their musical abilities, ensemble work, interpretative sensitivity, and performance discipline. This event is not only a platform for academic presentation but also a space for intermingling campus, work, and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This concert features student learning outcomes presented in an orchestral format with a PopJazz musical approach. Through works by composers and musicians such as Singgih Sanjaya, Christ Kayhatu, Candra Darusman, Joseph Kosma, Michael E, Eden Ahbez, Marcos Valle, and Earl Klugh, students are invited to understand the richness of musical idioms across various styles, from orchestral colors, popular harmonies, jazz, to modern musical expressions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, S.Sn., M.Sn., stated that learning outcome concerts like this demonstrate ISI Yogyakarta's commitment to providing art education that doesn't stop at theory but is realized through real artistic experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cISI Yogyakarta continues to foster an arts education process that is closely linked to practice, creation, and presentation of works. Through concerts like \u2018Rising Veil,\u2019 students not only learn to play music but also understand collective work, artistic discipline, and the responsibility to present works that can be appreciated by the public,\u201d said the Rector.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He added that activities like this strengthen the position of ISI Yogyakarta as an art higher education institution that consistently produces creative processes, spaces for expression, and academic works relevant to the development of the performing arts world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cRising Veil\u201d concert is open to the public and can be viewed for free. The presence of the public is expected to be an important part of the students' learning process, as well as expanding public appreciation for musical works born from the academic environment of ISI Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this activity, ISI Yogyakarta affirms its role as a center for higher art education that actively builds a creative ecosystem, connects classroom learning with stage experience, and strengthens the campus's contribution to the development of music art in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
