This collaboration brings together the youthful energy of Art Management students with the artistic experience of the alumni, thus creating a vibrant, intergenerational learning space based on direct practice in the art world.

This exhibition, curated by Kristiana Bondan Wicaksaning Galih, features works from several artists, including Liesti Yanti Purnomo, Ary Okta, Kana Fuddy Prakoso, Laila Tifah, Justina TS, Feintje Likawati, Warsiyah, Kristi Nugra, Anik Indrayani, Tini Jameen, Agni Tripratiwi, Steph Moe, Media Noverita, Endang Lies Suseno, Yuniar Tristi, and Dewi Indah Prasetowati. The exhibition opening was also inaugurated by Arsita Pinandita, Creative Director of CherryPop.

Conceptually, “Dekap Rasa” originates from a reflection on the human emotional experience, which is not always whole. This exhibition highlights the relationship between loss, attachment, affection, and the search for security, particularly through the experience of a mother figure who is not always physically or emotionally present in one’s life.

However, this exhibition doesn't stop at the narrative of loss. Through the works of Empu Gampingan, “Dekap Rasa” offers a gentler and more reflective interpretation: that human need for affection remains, grows, and shapes how one finds meaning in life. This exhibition invites the public to view art as a space for the convergence of personal memories, inner experiences, and broader social consciousness.

For ISI Yogyakarta, the organizing of this exhibition demonstrates the strong tradition of practice-based academia that is the hallmark of the art campus. Students not only study art governance theory in classrooms but are also directly involved in the processes of planning, production, curation, public communication, artist management, and organizing exhibitions in art spaces that interact with the community.

The involvement of alumni in this exhibition also demonstrates the continuity of the ISI Yogyakarta ecosystem. The campus is not only a place of education but also a hub for a creative network that continuously connects students, lecturers, alumni, artists, curators, communities, and creative industry players.

Through “Dekap Rasa,” ISI Yogyakarta reaffirms its position as one of the most important centers for higher art education in Indonesia.
