Yogyakarta, January 15, 2026 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta has made another proud achievement at the international level. One of the lecturers of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Citra Aryandari, S.Sn., M.A., was elected as a Short-Term Fellow 2025-2026 at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, United States. The selection of Dr. Citra Aryandari as a fellow at this prestigious institution is proof of world recognition of the academic quality and scientific contributions of ISI Yogyakarta lecturers, especially in the development of arts and cultural research based on the rich traditions of the archipelago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this fellowship program, Dr. Citra Aryandari will conduct research titled \u201cUnsilencing the Archives\u201d, a study that focuses on re-reading cultural archives through an interdisciplinary approach. The research specifically addresses how texts and images can \u201cdance together\u201d in Javanese manuscripts, representing the dynamic relationship between forms of expression, cultural meanings, and traditional practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This research also carries an important mission to emphasize that cultural knowledge is embodied, that is, living in bodies, practices and traditions that continue to move across time and space. As such, manuscripts are not only understood as static artifacts, but as \u201cliving spaces\u201d that hold traces of a community's collective knowledge, expressions and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement also strengthens ISI Yogyakarta's position as an Impact Campus, which continues to encourage academicians to produce works, research and innovations that are relevant, competitive and globally recognized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISI Yogyakarta expressed its appreciation and congratulations on Dr. Citra Aryandari's success. It is hoped that the academic and research journey at Yale can run smoothly and become an inspiration for the academic community and the younger generation to continue working and bringing Indonesian arts and culture to the world stage.<\/p>\n\n\n
