The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) ISI Yogyakarta and Cheng Shui University, Taiwan held an oil painting restoration workshop on July 25, 2025, at Sasana Ajiyasa Building, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta. This conservation workshop presented speakers from Cheng Shui University, Taiwan and was attended by lecturers of the Art Conservation study program at ISI Yogyakarta, representative lecturers from study programs in FSRD ISI Yogyakarta and representatives from the Affandi Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oil painting restoration workshop was held in order to bind the competence of painting conservation for lecturers of the Art Conservation study program and lecturers at FSRD ISI Yogyakarta. This painting conservation competency is important for lecturers of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta because it is an art object that is often encountered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"The Art Conservation study program is a new study program at FSRD ISI Yogyakarta, to improve the quality of lecturers and study programs we organize art conservation workshops by presenting speakers from Cheng Shui University, Taiwan who are famous for their art conservation study programs and technology\" said Muhamad Sholahuddin, S.Sn., M.T, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ISI Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization of the oil painting restoration workshop also collaborates with the Affandi Museum, which has many oil paintings by Affandi. With this collaboration, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta is allowed to borrow one of Affandi's oil painting collections for conservation. The use of oil paintings by Affandi is expected to provide real experience for workshop participants to conserve paintings that are decades old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FSRD ISI Yogyakarta will continue to collaborate with foreign and domestic partners to improve the competence of the academic community and improve ISI Yogyakarta's ranking in the QS World University Ranking. The organization of the minyat paint conservation workshop in collaboration with Cheng Shui University, Taiwan and the Affandi Museum is hopefully able to improve ISI Yogyakarta's ranking in the QS World University Ranking by Subject for art and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
