The event was held on September 18, 2024 at KJ Hotel, Yogyakarta. hybrid. This international scientific conference raised the theme Design, Technology and Local Culture.

DeKaVeCON is an interactive platform for academics and researchers both from within the country and abroad to answer all the challenges and needs in the field of the latest visual communication design. Industrial development and modernization greatly affect the process of creating art and design because technological advances have also created a diversity of designs. Diverse designs provide many choices and appeal to the public and become a solution to social problems. This diversity of design with technological advances has also given rise to design criticism. Technological advances form a global society whose members interact with each other without space and time constraints. Technology can be used to build cultural bridges. Technology can also accommodate local cultural expressions in artworks. The influence of globalization on local culture needs to be considered because this can have both positive and negative impacts. Local culture can continue to be echoed globally by utilizing information technology. However, local culture can also gradually fade away when the global community is no longer interested in it. At the same time, globalization also affects the aesthetics of contemporary art. In her remarks, the Chairperson of the Committee Debby Dwi Elsha, S.I.Kom., M.A. stated that this activity is a form of contribution from the Visual Communication Design Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta to continue to provide benefits in the field of visual communication design science so that it can synergize with the fast growing industrial world. This was also supported by the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design M. Sholahuddin, S.Sn., M.T. in his speech. In his remarks, he expressed his support for this conference activity to realize an academic commitment that makes a real contribution to industrial development in the era of disruption which increasingly requires everyone to be able to adapt to digital technology without forgetting cultural values.

There are four keynote speakers who shared their knowledge according to their expertise, namely Gomesh Karchanapayap Asst.
