The Faculty of Fine Arts (FSR) ISI Yogyakarta celebrated the 74th anniversary of ASRI for two days on January 15 and 16, 2024. The celebration of ASRI's 74th anniversary began with a pilgrimage to the artist's grave, followed by a ceremonial anniversary celebration and ended with a visit to the former FSR ISI Yogyakarta. This celebration was attended by the Head of ISI Yogyakarta, Head of FSR ISI Yogyakarta, lecturers, alumni students and former employees of FSR ISI Yogyakarta. With the implementation of Harlah ASRI, it is hoped that it will become a method to emulate the spirit and struggle of the predecessors and remember the greatness of the founding artists of ASRI.<\/p>\n

Akademi Seni Rupa Indonesia or more popularly ASRI is the forerunner of the establishment of FSR ISI Yogyakarta. Exactly 74 years ago on January 15, 1950, the inauguration of ASRI was held by the Minister of PP and K at that time, namely S. Mangunsarkoro by appointing RJ. Katamsi as President Director. ASRI became the momentum for the establishment of a higher institution of art education that was able to produce reliable and famous artists in this country such as Widayat, Hendrodjasmoro, Saptoto, HM. Bakir, Abas Alibasyah, Abdul Kadir, Edhi Sunarso, and Soetopo. ASRI later transformed into the Indonesian College of Fine Arts (STSRI) and finally into the Faculty of Fine Arts (FSR) ISI Yogyakarta. ASRI became the embryo of the establishment of art education institutions, especially fine arts in the country.<\/p>\n

In this Harlah celebration, there is something special because FSR ISI Yogyakarta is preparing to face international accreditation, said the Dean of FSR ISI Yogyakarta Muhamad Sholahuddin, S.T., M.T. Furthermore, he conveyed that international accreditation is needed to improve quality, branding of FSR ISI Yogyakarta and as an effort to meet the Main Performance Index (IKU) 8 related to study programs accredited by international institutions. In his remarks the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta congratulated the 74th Anniversary of ASRI, for the entire Academic Community of FSR ISI Yogyakarta, hopefully in the future FSR ISI Yogyakarta will be able to become a higher education institution for fine arts in the country and have an international reputation.<\/p>\n

With the celebration of ASRI's 74th anniversary, hopefully FSR ISI Yogyakarta will be able to obtain maximum results in accreditation organized by international institutions and be able to increase the ranking of FSR ISI Yogyakarta at the international level.<\/p>\n
