Ethnomusicology Series #2 will present two international speakers namely Sarah Weiss, Ph.D. from Kunst Universitat Graz, Austria and Dr. Sean Hayward, MFA, BM. From California Institute of The Arts, USA.<\/p>\n<p>Ethnomusicology is a branch of science that studies the music of different cultures and societies around the world. It is crucial to understanding the diversity of cultures in the world and how music is an integral part of people's identities. Ethnomusicologists strive to appreciate and preserve the cultural heritage of different societal groups, while enhancing cross-cultural understanding of the art of music.<\/p>\n<p>The academic community of the Department of Ethnomusicology ISI Yogyakarta studies music from various cultures and societies in Indonesia. Through the Ethnomusicology Series #2, the academic community of the Ethnomusicology Department will gain insights related to the development of ethnomusicology in the world and how these trends affect the development of ethnic music in the country from speakers who are experts in the field of ethnic music.<\/p>\n<p>Ethnomusicology Series #2 with the topic \"Future Ethnomusicology: New Trends in Indonesia\" was organized in collaboration with the Department of Ethnomusicology FSP ISI Yogyakarta and the American Indonesia Exchange Foundation (AMINEF).
