The Department of Karawitan, Faculty of Performing Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta is organizing the \"International Yogyakarta Karawitan Festival 2021\", on December 10 to 11, 2021. The theme of this year's International Yogyakarta Karawitan is \u00a0Re-Actualizing the Beauty Sound of Karawitan in the Pandemic Era<\/i><\/em>. International Yogyakarta Karawitan Festival 2021 consists of karawitan performance activities and international webinars held online. The international karawitan performance will be shown online on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 19.00 until completion on the ISI Yogyakarta Youtube Channel. On the following day, December 11, 2021, an international webinar will be held online via Zoom and ISI Yogyakarta Youtube Channel, at 09.00 to 13.00 WIB. This activity will describe the beauty of karawitan during the pandemic, especially in the context of virtual art and find out the existence of domestic and foreign karawitan groups during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

The international karawitan performance will be performed by international and domestic karawitan groups. Overseas groups that will be performing include Singa Ngelaras Ensemble (Singapore), Lasalle Gamelan Ensemble (Singapore), Gamelan Sekar Kenangan (Germany), Gamelan Dadali (Russia). Karawitan groups from Indonesia that will participate in this performance include KHP Krindhamardawa Karaton Ngayokyakarta Hadiningrat, Langen Praja Pura Pakualaman, Akademi Komunitas Seni dan Budaya Yogyakarta, Trustho & Omah Gamelan, HMJ Karawitan ISI Yogyakarta, Suhardjono, Teguh, UKM Seni Pepalit, Biratama, Panji Asmara, Puspadenta, Nuansa Nada, Wiraga Ensembel, Waruga Sora (SMK N 10 Bandung), Macakal (SMK N 10 Bandung), Sanggar Seni Wiratama, Karawitan Taruna Kemuning, Kawaritan Yoga Kemuning, Karawitan Kemuning, Paguyuban Purba laras, Djomblo Ensemble and KKM Gamelan Sawunggaling Semarang State University.<\/p>\n

The international seminar will be held in two sessions. In the first session, there will be presentations from several speakers including Prof. Dr. Drs. Djohan, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Djoko Susilo, S.Kar, MA, Drs. Sutrisno Satya Hartana, MA, Ph.D. The second session will be presented by speakers Anon Suneko, M.Sn, Marsudi, S.Kar, M.Sn, Drs. Teguh, M.Sn, and Dra. Tri Suharmini R., M.Sn. The first art session of this international seminar will be hosted by Brian Trinanda Kusuma Adi, S.Sn., MA, and the second session will be hosted by Setya Rahdiyatmi K.J., M.Sn.<\/p>\n

By organizing the \"International Yogyakarta Karawitan Festival 2021\", academics and the public can exchange knowledge in the field of karawitan, appreciate the development of karawitan creations in several countries and witness that the spirit of tradition is still the orientation of karawitan work during the pandemic.<\/p>\n
