This year entered the 11th year of implementation and ISI Yogyakarta became the host (host) of SEADOM with the topic of<strong> <em>\"Quality Assurance for Music Education in Southeast Asia\"<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\"Music Cross Arts in Southeast Asia Focus\". <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two series of Seadom events, namely student projects and\ncongress. The student project took place on March 11-14 and the congress began on March\nMarch 14-16, said Fortunata Tyasrinestu from the Music Education study program, who was appointed as the committee chair.\nMusic Education program who was appointed as the head of the committee. The student project that involved\nparticipants from the Southeast Asian region are approximately\n10-15 students from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines,\nIndonesia, and some students from Australia. They learn and play\ngamelan with the mentor and instructor of gamelan music karawitan from ISI\nYogyakarta Anon Suneko for 4 days (March 11-14, 2019). In this workshop\napart from playing gamelan, they also created their own works under the\nAnon Suneko's guidance. All the results of the workshop were performed in a friendly evening of\nSeadom congress at the\nPendopo Panjang Mas, Department of Karawitan ISI Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The congress began on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the\nAjiyasa building, Faculty of Fine Arts\nwith an opening string performance\nquartet ensemble from the music presentation study program, followed by remarks from the Rector of ISI\nYogyakarta Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan and Prof. Bernard Lanskey as the\nPresident of SEADOM, he expressed his gratitude because ISI\nYogyakarta has received well and is pleased to host during the event.\nactivities take place. This activity is expected to be one of the links and\ninteraction between universities to discuss the latest information and\ninformation and the latest research in the realm of music, especially with the theme raised this year, namely\nthis year, namely \"Quality Assurance for\nMusic Education in Southeast Asia\" and \"Music Cross Arts in Southeast Asia\nFocus\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second day of the congress began with a brass ensemble performance\nensemble by a combination of lecturers from the music program.\nThe keynote on the second day was Prof. Martin Prchal (Vice Principal, Royal\nConservatory, The Hugue, The Netherlands, Board Member, MusiQuE Music\nQuality Enhancement). Furthermore, the discussion was divided into small groups to\ndiscussing the theme of Quality Assurance for Music Education in Southeast Asia with the\ntook place on the 3rd floor of the rectorate and the Ajiyasa building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third day of the congress as well as the last day of the SEADOM series began with a performance from Keroncong Tresnawara who performed two songs. The keynote on the second day by Prof. I Made Bandem, M.A. (Ethnomusicologist, Former Rector of ISI Yogyakarta) presented the article Indonesian Traditional Music within the Milieu of Global Cross-Arts Creativity. The panelists in this session were Prof. I Made Bandem, Prof. Jeffrey Sharkey, Prof. Petra Frank, and Prof. Triyono Bramantyo from the Music Education department of ISI Yogyakarta. This was followed by discussion sessions in small groups. The congress was closed with the submission of each group's resume and input for activities that will be held next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(doc.
